Today, CRKT released a USA-Made model, “Redemption” in collaboration with Hogue Knives. Designed by Cutlery Hall-of-Famer Ken Onion, this folding knife has design elements inspired by the iconic gambler knives of the old west (it’s based on his Deadman’s Hand custom). Onion has released countless of stylish designs (that are also functional) and this one is another added to that list.
This is also Ken’s first CRKT design to feature a cross bar locking mechanism, which also acts as the opening mechanism via index or thumb. Opening at first took me a second to get used to, but after spending a couple of days with this knife, I was hooked on fidgeting with it. The opening mechanism combined with the reversible pocket clip makes this left-handed friendly (yay!).
The blade is CPM Magnacut steel which means excellent edge, retention, toughness, and corrosion resistance.
A very unique one added to the collection, I do not have anything quite like this! You can find them on CRKT’s website by clicking here.
