Working at The World’s Largest Knife Show

Man, a few years ago I came to my first BLADE Show and fell in love with the positive atmosphere and kick ass people in the Knife community. Fast forward to now and I never would have never expected that I’d have the opportunity to become member of the BLADE team and be a part of this event. I worked my butt off these past 8 months building a new and improved website for Blade Show along with raising event awareness on in Social media and other digital marketing platforms. It was a huge success andIt was a huge success and it felt so great to be a part of this event. We saw 1000 exhibitors and it felt so great to be a part of this event. There was record high attendance this year as well and The World’s Largest Knife Show got even larger. BLADE Show is hosted by our media company, BLADE Magazine and is held every year in Atlanta.

One of best parts about Blade Show was getting to meet Steve Shackleford, head editor of BLADE Magazine. This man has been with BLADE for about 35 years and manages the publication like a fine oiled machine. He knows virtually everyone in the Knife community and goes above and beyond his role to help everyone in the company. I have spoke with him many times on the phone but finally got to put a face to the name. He’s a hoot. During the awards ceremony, he became a BLADE Cutlery Hall of Fame member. This came as a surprise to Shackleford, who was emceeing the ceremony as he always does. Inductees typically know they will be honored before the event. However, with the blessing of the others in the Hall of Fame, Shackleford was inducted by Bruce Voyles, former publisher of BLADE. It was a pretty emotional evening for us all indeed.
